Sansara

Sansara, a word borrowed from eastern philosophies, refers to the repeating cycle of birth, life, death, and re-birth. Set against the backdrop of Van Lake and the majestic mountains of Eastern Anatolia, Sansara explores the idea that life proceeds in a cyclical manner in the rural. The film traces the various different chapters in the lives of a group of Kurdish villagers, who have violently been displaced from their villages several decades ago, and have migrated back since then. The passage of seasons frames their experiences through time… And they come full circle, only to be caught up in a new cycle of seasons and of migration; a new cycle triggered by a different set of events this time around.
